The dreaded marathon registry

Greetings All!!!

We made it to the third trimester, and both K and the baby are doing great!! Last night we decided it was time to set up a baby registry...Let me tell you, that is one crazy event.

Imagine a cross between an Olympic window shopping trip and a consumer reports debate, multiply that visual by a power of 10, and you may just arrive at the reality of the situation.

Once they turned us loose with the price gun, we ran up and down the isles, picking out things we hoped/think we need, and every so often something that happened to catch our fancy. Call it attempting to be responsible.. soon to be parents, or overt paranoia, however not one thing made the list without a double check of five recall lists, and a couple review sites..(thank whatever power you believe in for WI-FI Internet...)

Anyway I am tossing out the link to our registry, all you experienced parents do me a favor and take a look, if you see anything we missed and you think we really need for the baby, drop us a reply!! ( not counting a stroller, car seat, and pack+play, picked them up already)

Stay tuned, same bat-time, same bat-channel :)

Long overdue

Greetings and Salutations All!!

Life is moving fast right now,it seems like only yesterday, we found out we were going to be parents. Now we are five and a half months into the pregnancy, and are overjoyed that little David Alexander Barfield (yep that is going to be his name) is looking to be a healthy baby.

We have a couple of new photos of David, and hope to (amidst the flurry of nursery preparations, Lamas Classes, and the day to day interconnected but random activities that constitute life) have more updates soon.

Baby's 1st photo!!!!

Talk about mind blowing. a couple days before Christmas, we found our we were going to be parents. Well today was our 1st baby appointment, and let me tell you, seeing the 1st images of a new life was amazing! We saw the little heart beating, tiny arms and legs, that's when it really hit home, we ARE going to be parents! In the tradition of countless parents before us, we have to wave our grainy, Wooly willy-Esq topographical map of our kid to be to everyone we meet, Have a look!

(ps : Although at 1st we thought our little angel was wearing a halo, it turned out that the circle is part of the placenta, and it's near the baby's feet :)

Much to K's chagrin, I geek out on the saltwater fish tanks. This is a photo of our latest venture, a 180 gallon reef tank, and a 65 gallon species tank for our Caribbean reef octopus Cthulhu. (pictured below)

MEET DAISY!

Photobucket

Say hello to the newest member of our happy family.. DAISY the basset hound. This is ONE exceptional pup, we just brought her home yesterday, and in one day has learned to navigate staircases, let us know when she needs to go outside to use the restroom, and is great walking on a leash! This dog rocks!!!!!
